About Waimea

Waimea delivers innovative solid and engineered wood products and timber design advice to the residential and commercial sectors, paving the way for a more sustainable building industry. Waimea is a recognised leader in the New Zealand sawmilling industry. The Company has an annual output of 50,000m3 of Douglas fir and Pinus Radiata and supplies markets in Asia, the Pacific, Australia and New Zealand.

Timber framing

Waimea offers a complete framing package, including solid timber and Glulam lintels in Douglas fir and Pinus Radiata. The Douglas fir range offers superior stiffness, strength, stability and durability. Builders love it because they don’t have to straighten studs and they prefer to handle untreated timber. And they can use wide span Douglas fir beams in place of more expensive structural members.

Engineered wood

Waimea’s engineered wood range includes finger jointed and Glulam products for indoor and outdoor uses – also in Douglas fir and Pinus Radiata. Our pre-primed finger jointed laminated posts are ideal for verandah posts and pergolas. And our Glulam can be used as lintels, beams, joists or purlins in small or large projects. Waimea’s Glulam is a carbon friendly alternative to steel in commercial roof framing.

Outdoor timber

Waimea produces a full selection of outdoor timber products for fencing, outdoor framing and house piles.
